Two online resources for teaching vocabulary to newcomers, BarryFunEnglish and Mes English, will be discussed in detail. Also, the PALS Reading Program, developed by Vanderbilt University, will be discussed and how it can be adapted to teach beginning reading to ELLs. Finally, reading resources available on Learning a-z will be highlighted.
