I wanted to help my EAL students be successful in literature class. I decided to offer them the opportunity to read works of literature in their native language alongside their peers who are reading in English. I set this up as an action research project. During this presentation, I will discuss what I learned by doing this study.

I have been teaching for 18 years, with the last 11 in ESL. I have taught in Albania, South Korea, and England, and am finally back home in Tennessee, continuing to work with ELLs. In my free time, I like to read, write stories, and find good barbecue (both American and Korean).
