Illuminating Language:Engagement in Actions and Words
This session provides easy and exciting ways to develop higher order thinking skills through the use of storytelling and story acting. Literacy development is increased by providing young children with language experiences that promote a love of books, language, and stories within an environment filled with rich conversation and meaning.

Lee Ann Kelly has been teaching for over 25 years. Her background ranges from kindergarten to high school in both special education and ESL.

Diann Sorensen

Lakeland Elementary
Diann has been teaching elementary (grades K-5) for 21 years: 14 years as a classroom teacher and 7 in ESL. She added her ESL endorsement in 1999 and completed her master's degree in Teacher Leadership in 2011.
