Engaging with Identity Langauges
I wanted to help my EAL students be successful in literature class. I decided to offer them the opportunity to read works of literature in their native language alongside their peers who are reading in English. I set this up as an action research project. During this presentation, I will discuss what I learned by doing this study.

Writer's Workshop for EL Students: Putting the Pieces Together
Participants will learn how to break down a writing prompt into a week-long writer's workshop session. Participants will learn how to utilize Thinking Maps, Share and Pair speaking exercises, and writing rubrics to create and support 5 daily writing tasks that help students successfully produce a final writing product by the end of the week.
